Who are you?

Singapore Fashion Runway is a social enterprise that nurtures people with special needs and disdvantaged groups through our Fashion for a Social Cause movement. The products/ services we offer are designed/ produced by the special needs families, such as reusable masks, pouches, tote bags, T-shirts and more. We also train the caregivers in sewing, and potential ones get to nurtured as sewing trainers too in our social enterprise. We will be commencing a Food for a Social Cause dept from 1 May 2021.

How it all started?

Singapore Fashion Runway started in SG50 in 2015 as a nationwide community initaitive to gather people who love designing, sewing and modelling to partake in our platform SG50 Singapore Fashion Runway, so that they can present their talents and love for Singapore’s 50th birthday. However after 2015, we also saw people with special needs/ chronic illness who also harbour their dream and have their talents, thus Fashion for a Social Cause rose as a vision to unite a diversified pool of talents through our inclusive runway shows/ platforms to showcase the passion of the community and hone their talents.

Tell us more about your business

We nurture people with special needs in Creative Arts, Performing Arts and Entrepreneurship. Today, we run a centre for special needs and the community at Marina South Pier MRT station, 1 crafts-making/ sewing store at People’s Park Food Centre #02-1128, 1 retail store at The Artground and we are starting to launch our Food for a Social Cause department too on 1 May 2021!

What made you decide to start this business?

God. I prayed to God that I like to impact life, and in 2010, HE showed me fashion. Thus a local brand Noel Caleb was born. I did not know how fashion can impact life, till in 2015 I founded SG50 Singapore Fashion Runway, and I then saw many people with disabilities who also had an interest in what I do, that I started to learn about the purpose of impacting life through our Fashion for a Social Cause movement.

What is your favourite part of running this business?

Being able to meet many families with special needs, learn from them and their talented children/ youths.

What is your best selling product / service?

Fashion for a Social Cause masks (S$12) with our matching zip pouch (S$12) too!
