Handmade Resin Crafts

Who are you?

My name is Junezsa. I’m a weekday SAHM, crafter, baker and weekend Art Teacher all rolled into one!

How it all started?

The journey of how Maimika started was when I became intrigued by a crafter who was at a craft market selling resin. At that time I was selling homebaked goods, and coming from a creative background, it got me interested in trying out resin. I tried out resin crafts at home, making charms and shaker charms, then I wanted to venture into it more to create resin accessories. I then went on to utilise my Skills Future credit and attended a course in Fashion Accessories Design in NAFA where we explored using different mediums other than resin to create accessories

Tell us more about your business

The name ‘Maimika’ is derived from both my girls names, ‘Mikayla’ & ‘Maiya’ as they inspired me to pursue my resin crafts as I was taking a break from my home baking business.

What made you decide to start this business?

I wanted to take a break from my home baking business as I was baking into the late nights and weekends which took time away from my family.

What is your favourite part of running this business?

I felt doing resin was relaxing and another creative outlet for me besides baking. I love pastels, so I get to create my charms using pastel colours and molds which makes them look whimsical.

What is your best selling product?

My products are mostly resin shaker charms, as I love to see and hear the little shaking sounds made from them, ASMR! There are 2 types of shaker charms, liquid and dry shaker charms. Top it up with a pom pom it makes a perfect charm to hang on your bags.
